By Kalanisi ex Babble On (Anita's Prince)

Occasionally we see individuals at the sales which simply have to be bought, and Imperial Eloquence fitted neatly into that category. By Kalanisi a rising sire, out of a top class race mare and easy on the eye. He was a sharper type than many of the horses we buy and didn't take long to come to hand. There is plenty of speed in his pedigree and as an easy moving, highly athletic specimen he was expected to make his mark in bumpers. He came into full training with Fergal O'Brien in January 2016, and progressed very quickly.  Still very green and with a lot to learn he made his debut in a bumper at Hexham at the end of March winning by one and three quarter lengths. When asked he quickened clear off the home turn, running green after straightening up and can be rated a deal better than the bare margin. He has since run well in a bumper at Perth and been placed in two listed bumpers at Cheltenham and Ascot. His next race will be in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham festival. His jumping is exceptional so we have high hopes when he sees some obstacles next season.
