Imperial Esprit
(2014 Bay Gelding)
By Scorpion ex Shesourpresent (Presenting)
A large imposing horse who is marking time until he sees a fence. Despite that he ran two good races in bumpers on his debut season, finishing second to the highly rated Ask For Glory on his debut at Chepstow. Didn’t quite reach that standard next time out when finishing 5th at the same course, but the race has worked out well with the 4th and 6th horses winning decent bumpers next time out. He is still growing despite his size and was beginning to find the training difficult to handle. Last season was a disappointment as he fell victim to a virus and pulled up on his only start. We think a lot of him so took the decision to give him a break for the remainder of the season. He has returned a much stronger and more mature horse and will make his mark over hurdles this season before he goes chasing. There is a lot of improvement in Imperial Esprit and he has an exciting future ahead of him.
