Saint Jaguen
(2108 Bay Gelding)
By Saint Des Saints ex Soif d'Aimer (Robin Des Champs)
Of all the horses at the Goffs Land Rover Sale (and they were a nice bunch), this is the one we wanted to bring home. At just short of 16’ 2’ he is a gorgeous athlete with a huge amount of quality. He comes from a top French dam line which has already produced some top class race horses. His full sister (Marine Jag) was purchased by Nick Gifford at last years Tattersalls Derby Sale for Euro 70,000 and is held in very high regard. Unbelievably, we were able to secure him for 82,000 which we consider was a steal in such a strong market. As you can see from this video, he is an absolute stand out, boasting a terrific physique as well as a very strong pedigree on the dam’s side. He has the scope to jump fences in time but should prove equally adept in bumpers and over hurdles. He has been lunged over poles and broken and ridden since the sales and has made it all look very easy. After a few more weeks of ground work he will be given a short break, before starting his pre-training routine and heading to the Fergal O’Brien yard to start his career under rules. We love him.
